Don’t take our word for it, listen to what our judges and previous winners have to say!

We love to boast about our creators, but we can’t take all the credit for their success. The folks who enter The Geekie Awards are highly ambitious artists who have achieved success on their own. What they got from us was confidence to go out there and promote, assistance in industry-related challenges, and the opportunity to network with peers and professionals. Our mission is to help give you that needed boost by getting your work seen.

Success stories from winners and nominees:

  • “Colonus” / Best Comic/Graphic Novel—picked up by Dark Horse Comics, featured on the premiere of “The Big Bang Theory.”
  • Alex “The Pumpkin Geek” / Best Art/Craft—Alex’s work was recently published in People Magazine! Previous to that, Legendary Entertainment hired him for a Hollywood premiere, and he was a featured guest on “Yahoo’s DayTime in No Time” and “Good Day Sacramento” talk shows.
  • “A Podcast of Ice & Fire” / Best Podcast—George R. R. Martin wrote a post on his website about this four-person, fun podcast.
  • “What Do You Know?” / Podcast nominee—swooped up by Jon Lovitz’s new YouTube comedy channel.

Our show provides an opportunity to piggy back on our media outreach to get your work seen by as many eyeballs as possible—and hopefully lead to MORE work! The Geekie Awards received over 1.5 billion in 2013 and 2014—that’s $15 million worth of advertising and marketing that is free to our entrants. Aside from that, every entrant has told us that by even posting work on our site has gotten their videos, podcasts, comics, sites and more a boost in eyeballs. This year, we’re implementing public voting for winners in hopes to get even MORE eyes on your work! Read about How We Handle Publicity—and how YOU can take part in building your career.

Entrants specifically receive:

  • A page on our website for each entry – like this page. Share your pages too, and rank higher in Google search!
  • Promotion on all of our social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter (via your page). We reach up to 100,000 views a week on our social sites.

Our door is always open. Any entrant can email us at any time to ask industry-related questions and get tips on how to do ____, and we’ll aways be there to help. This year, we’re hoping to create a series of videos from experts that will help YOU, the creator, grow in all areas of your business—from marketing to PR to how to network. You’re already incredibly talented at what you do, let us give you that extra boost! Have a video idea? Let us know!

Each winning team receives a “Geekie” trophy (pictured here). FUN FACT: The trophy is held on it’s base by super powerful magnets, allowing you to remove the statue and play with it. You heard us, it’s a trophy / toy!

Nominees are given 2 tickets to attend the show. This includes photos and interviews (when available by press). Read more about publicity for nominees and winners here.

NEW! We can’t control the press. In the past, we didn’t feel that enough of our nominees got the coverage they deserved, so we’re remedying that this year! In 2015, we are planning a two-day event including a whole day dedicated to creators: GeekieFest: The Day of the Creator!  We want to provide nominees with a chance to participate in individual interviews, along with an opportunity to network with other nominees, judges, industry guests and press. Out motto is: the more eyeballs the better. We are hoping to live stream this event as well.

Winners get gift bags filled with around $1,000 worth of special gifts from or sponsors, as a thank you for your incredible work!

Nominees get gifts too! This year we are partnering with Jinx to give each nominated project merchandise fit just for them. What’s inside The Geekie Awards bag? It’s a mystery!
