THE 2105 GEEKIE AWARDS SUBMISSION PERIOD IS NOW CLOSED
The Geekie Awards® is open to all work that meets our eligibility requirements.
By entering your work into The Geekie Awards, you irrevocably agree to all Terms listed below.
DATES & FEES
April 6 – April 30 = $45.00
May 1 – June 14 = $65.00
- All work must have been created or published after Jan 30, 2013. Website entries must have some current content created after Jan, 2015.
- Work meets the eligibility requirements in the category in which it is entered. Category requirements are documented on the submission site once you register and create an entry.
- There is no limit to the number of entries that may be submitted by any entrant.
- Entrant must be the creator of work(s) or an authorized representative(s) of the work entered.
PREVIOUS WINNER / ENTRANT ELIGIBILITY
- Nominees can enter either the same work or new work again in any category.
- Projects that received a “category honor” in 2013 (ex: Best Sci-Fi Short Film, Best Comic Book Cover Art) can enter again in any category.
- Projects that won a “Best [Category Name]” TROPHY award (as in you made a speech on stage at the live show), are not eligible to win the same trophy in the same category. (Trophy awards include Best: Short Film, Web Series, Podcast, One Shot, Comic/Graphic Novel, Art/Craft, Website, Toy/Game, Crowdfunding.)
- Winners are allowed to enter other categories–either the same work or something new.
For example, if you win a trophy for your short film Trailer, you can enter your completed film in the Short Films category this year–it’s another product category with completely different judges.
- Each project/piece of work entered into a category is considered one entry. Note: In Art & Craft and Fashion categories, entrants will be asked to submit multiple pieces of work (portfolio) in a single entry.
- All physical submissions must be postmarked by June 10th (Tabletop Games, Comic Books).
- Any physical products submitted will not be returned. Entrant is responsible for shipping costs.
- Your entry is considered incomplete until we receive your payment. Refunds not available.
JUDGING / VOTING
All Geekie Awards entries are scored by a panel of judges to determine five (5) nominees in each category.
Nominated work will be posted on TheGeekieAwards.com in a special voting system for the public to vote and choose winners.

Why do you charge a fee and what is my money used for?
The Geekie Awards is an indie-created show, just like your work. We are not part of or backed by a TV network or major studio. We raise funds ourselves, through various means, to be able to produce a show that brings enough media attention to make it worthwhile for creators and everyone associated with the event to enter, attend and watch. Fees help cover various admin costs related to both submissions and the event, such as publicity and promotions, managing your submission through judging, nominations and the show itself.
Work must be entered through our submission site during the eligibility period of April 6, 2015 through June 14, 2015. All entry fees must be received by 11:59pm EST on June 14, 2015.
Links to media must be live and available during the submission, judging and live event period of April 6, 2015 to October, 2014.
We reserve the right to disqualify entrants and nominees who violate trademarks, infringe copyrights, solicit judges or the company; or entries that contain “hate” messages, pornographic material or statements that are offensive.
Ineligible entries may be disqualified at any time without notification.
Each entrant is responsible for ensuring their entry contains correct information and that URLs to media and websites work properly. Broken links and media that do not play may result in the entry being disqualified.
The “Title of Work” or artist name entered under each entry will be published if that entry becomes a nominee and/or winner. The title will be printed on the trophy if that entry becomes a winner; for Art/Craft and Fashion, we will use the name or shop name provided. Please ensure these details are correct at the time of entry.
We reserve the right to move any entry to another category if we feel another category is more appropriately suited for the entry.
Entrant assumes all shipping costs for physical entries and bears sole responsibility for distribution of products to judges. Any physical products submitted as part of your entry will not be returned.
You may withdraw your entry at any time by emailing email@example.com. However, you will not receive a refund as entries are reviewed at any point following submission.
FOREIGN LANGUAGE ENTRIES
Work from any country in the world is accepted. You must submit your entries in English. If you are entering work in a foreign language:
- Videos: Please subtitle your foreign language into English.
- Websites: Sites must allow for Google Translate into English.
JUDGING & NOMINEE SELECTION
All entries are scored by a panel of judges. Judges receive instructions about how to score entries, based on their own experience, expertise and understanding of each category’s criteria. Judges are volunteers and not employees of The Geekie Awards, LLC.
Decisions regarding the The Geekie Awards nominees and winners are final.
AWARDS & TROPHIES
An awards ceremony will be held in Los Angeles, California to honor The Geekie Awards winners. To learn more about the ceremony, visit the Award Ceremony section of this site.
In any instance where there are insufficient entries in a category, the entries will not proceed and no award shall be made at the discretion of The Geekie Awards, LLC. If no award shall be made because of insufficient entries, all entry fees in that category will be refunded. All refunds will be issued by 11:59pm PST on July 31, 2015.
One trophy will be provided in every category that has a winner. Additional trophies may be available for purchase at a later date, at the discretion of the award sponsor companies.
